My Personal Recommendation:
As far as my experience, Unreal Engine is my favorite render software because the limits of this software are infinite. As an architect and designer, you can do whatever you want. But for small and low-budget projects UE can be overwhelming because of its overwhelming settings. But for me, I probably like Unreal Engine the most for its cinematic output. TwinMotion is another option that gives almost the same cinematic results more simply. But as I discussed earlier, TwinMotion lacks some realism and control. Although this is not a big issue in a small project for larger and detailed projects it will be a concern. Both these software are relatively new.
But V-ray on the other hand is traditional but still stands at the top in terms of realism. You can achieve life-like results with V-ray much easier than with an unreal engine. Another thing I think is so useful is that you can use V-Ray as an extension of your CAD, BIM, or 3d modeling software. This means no need to export/import anymore which is much hassle for most of the time.
